Notice, I did not say giveaways, follow requests/widgets, and the like. I don’t like gimmicks on a blog if it is to boost numbers although I understand that’s how a book blogger can gain clout with publishers. I’m also not a vlog person. I have people whose blogs and Twitter accounts, etc. I LOVE but I do not watch videos for some reason.
I realize I’m mildly hypocritical with a lot of these features that I like, but these are the things I value in other blogs that I visit. 🙂

Yeah, I’m not that interested in giveaways either. I’m not saying I won’t ever host one or enter one, but they’re not on my list of what I want to see when I go to a blog. They seem to be very popular, though, because I see them everywhere. I’m not a vlog person either. There’s only so much time in the day. I can’t do everything.
Right–I actually just entered a giveaway and I suppose if I had a more popular blog or the means I would, but I like to hoard my books. 😉

I don’t worry as much about the comments back simply because.. it’s so hard to know if they actually did! I wish there were an option to subscribe ONLY to your comment. Otherwise, if you subscribe to the whole thread, you get MASS EMAILS, just to see your one response.
That’s a really good point about comments. A couple bloggers have been promoting Discus (sp.?) because it does notify of follow-up comments just to your own comment. I’m looking into it…if I’m going to make any changes to spruce up this blog it’ll definitely be in the next month or two! 🙂
What’s the difference between a vlog and a video? I’m glad that you mentioned this because this is definitely a dislike for me, glad you reminded me 😀
Day 8 Book Blogger Challenge
I’m not sure there is a difference. It might just be that a vlog is a more regular posting of videos with blog-like content. (Like a review video or a rant as opposed to just a book trailer video.) Maybe? 🙂
#2 I feel so awkward when I meet a blogger and we get along and then I visit their blog and we have zero books in common. I’m sorry but I just don’t know what to say about your review of KITTENS IN KILTS.
#3 I love discussion posts! Even if I don’t reply to it, I’ll still follow the conversation and come back for more.
#4 I like English. Good English.
#2 is tough because you want to be vocal and supportive, but, if I’m not going to read or promote anything that person is reviewing, then, eeeeeh? (Is that harsh?!) 🙂
