What is one of your favorite quotes?

Shakespeare’s “When I saw you I fell in love, and you smiled because you knew.” I just think it’s so sweet!
I have so many. But I’m rather fond of this one from I Am The Messenger by Markus Zusak:
“That aside, I read more books than I should and I’m decidedly crap at sex and doing my taxes. Nice to meet you.”
That’s how I introduce myself to people. 😉
One of my favorites is spoken by Monna Giovanna in the ninth story of the fifth day of The Decameron. Her brothers are making fun of her for saying she wishes to remarry Federigo degli Alberighi, a man who loves her very much and has been reduced to poverty because of his love for her. Federigo killed his pet hawk when Monna Giovanna came over for supper, the only thing of worth he had left in the world, and she remembered this act of sacrifice and nobility. So she retorts to her brothers, “I would rather marry a man in need of money than money in need of a man.”
That’s a great one and kind of fitting for my life right now (the man in need of money part, ha ha!). 😉

Thanks for stopping by! I sing in my car, teach junior high, drink far too much iced tea, and read a ton. Apologies in advance for my enthusiastic use of exclamation points and smiley faces.
